hi!! it has been such a long time since i have last blogged, but i am so happy to kick start more posts for this summer! i can’t believe my last post was in september! time is really flying! but, i’m so grateful for another amazing school year! a few months ago i came across a blog called the conservateur and fell in love with their posts! over the past few months i think i have read every single one their blog posts and really love the fashion and lifestyle ones! a few weeks ago they posted a spring fashion guide that i loved so i decided to create my own with my favorite looks of the summer! hope you enjoy a few of my faves for my favorite 3 months of the year! happy summer! : ))
WHITE TANKS
during some cold rainy days at school, i would find myself scrolling on pinterest and pinning lots of cute outfits with white tank tops! i didn’t realize i pinned so many white tank tops until i went to write this post and compile my pictures, but the common theme of these pins made this one of my favorite trends this season! i love how the girls in these pictures paired the tops with jeans and fun shoes like flats or heels, and thought this look was so classy and chic! i also feel like it is a perfect way to stay cool(ish) in the summer heat!
TENNIS SHOES
i know nowadays most people call tennis shoes sneakers, but i think there’s something so fun about the name tennis shoes, even if they’re not used for playing tennis, that i love! so for the sake of sounding fun and chic, these are a few of my favorite tennis shoes!
the texas and summer heat can be brutal and leave you wanting to wear nothing but a dress and sandals, but sometimes a good pair of tennies (as my momma calls them) works best with an outfit.
i love the way 90s model elle macpherson styled her adidas gazelles in an effortlessly chic way. i think the right tennis shoes can make for a put-together touch to a casual t shirt and jeans. i included some of my faves that i feel like are unique this season!
LIGHT LINEN
sticking with the theme of trying to stay as cool as possible in the texas heat, i felt like linen was a great place to start! my mom has so many cute linen items, and we always talk about how we love that it already has a wrinkled look to it so you don’t have to iron it before you wear it! i stumbled upon the set in the bottom right picture before i left school for the summer and couldn’t pass it up for such a great price during their cinco de mayo sale! i thought it was so cute and a perfect easy breezy outfit for summer!
SANDALS
sandals sandals sandals!! this spring i am loving the variations that different pairs of sandals offer and how a certain pair can go just right with your outfit or purse.
i have fallen in love with raffia, and it makes me feel so beachy and summery everytime i wear them! even in the heart of texas, i feel like the material can transport you to a coastal, salty air, sunset getaway!
i also had to include these rose gold birkenstocks. i remember seeing these for the first time in 6th grade, and i fell in love! i saved up my money to buy them, but somehow through the years, i lost them! before my freshman year of college i purchased them again, and can confirm they are tried and true! even though rose gold is not as popular as it once was, i feel like this small touch is well done! this past semester i would wear them a lot with casual outfits, but i can’t wait to dress them up this summer!
lastly, i have been loving this pair of white woven sandals. i feel like they can go with anything and are so comfy once broken in (but can tend to give lots of blisters at first if wearing them while walking long distances!)
LITTLE BLACK DRESS
while browsing pinterest, i came across the top two pictures, and thought they were so cute! i think both pictures were taken in paris, but i feel like something about a little flowy black dress could transport you there no matter where you are! i have never been, but i imagine that cute little dresses like this line the cobblestone streets! i loved how the girls in the top two pictures dressed it up with little accessories and shoes and feel like it could definitely be summer outfit go-to!
HEELS
the other day my mom and i went to nordstroms, and i found these heels on the bottom right of the pictures above that i had been looking at at anthropologie on sale! this has happened to me twice (first with the pair on the top left), and i couldn’t believe it! i absolutely love the raffia, and the the block sole reminds me of the ribbon pairs above! sam edleman truly makes the cutest shoes! i feel like these two from sam edleman like could go with anything, and instantly elevate a darling summer dress!
BELTED BEAUTY
a few weeks ago my mom told me that belts were coming back in style! she is my go-to for style advice and always knows the latest trends! i have never been a big belt wearer, but i am loving this trend and am so excited to try it this summer! i thought the way sofia richie styled her belts was so cute and such a fun way to accessorize an outfit or dress!
i hope you all have such an incredible summer of fun and sun! ;))
